India Loses T20 To Zimbabwe By Two Runs

The first T20 international between India and Zimbabwe was a game that showed how sport is a great leveller. Riding high on confidence after a 3-0 whitewash in the ODI series, India failed to cross the finish line today and lost the game by two runs.
A team that hadn't gone past 168 in the ODI series scored 170 in a 20-over match and gave India a challenge after all. Not that India couldn't have chased the target down but the origins of loss came while India were bowling only.
When your new ball bowlers go for a total of 85 runs in 8 overs there is a serious problem and that was evident for Mahendra Singh Dhoni, who for many people on twitter was the scapegoat. Dhoni hit 19 off 17 balls and batted during the difficult but familiar times in the innings when the asking rate was over ten an over. His partner for most parts Manish Pandey (48 off 35 balls) tried extremely hard to keep the momentum on right till the end. After that, even Axar Patel tried his hand to stay up with the required rate and got the match down to the final over where 8 runs were needed.
